My desktop works perfectly fine in SL, but my laptop, when ever i try to login to SL, it just says "Verifying Protocal Version" and won't get past it, and eventually fails to login. Any suggestions ?

Are you running a firewall on your laptop? Is it set up to allow SL to get through?

no firewall on the laptop, even disabled windows firewall. Tried to even connect laptop directly to the router so there's no network firewall, Still didn't work. I have no idea what's causing this
 Please help, someone, anyone ? |

I'm having the same problem. a tcpdump on the linux gateway says: 16:50:30.112572 a.b.c.d.12034 > 66.150.244.151.12036: udp 24 16:50:30.353425 66.150.244.151 > a.b.c.d: icmp: 66.150.244.151 udp port 12036 unreachable [tos 0xc0] (where a.b.c.d is the gateway) SL has always worked fine until today; i've not been connected for a while. |

Yeah, SL is broke. It's not us. I just got off of the phone with the lindens, apparantly they're updating to 1.6.7 on the servers, and SL will be down until after noon. Apparantly they posted this on the Announcements part of the forums instead of doing the login blurb. *mutters under his breath* |
