Wud Up SL,
I'm having issues with my music going in and out and continuesly crackling. The more I move the worse it gets, if i stand still it takes a good 5 minutes to clear up, but as soon as i move or even just right click on another avatar it's back to the crackling again. I dont know if i am the only one or not but i dont hear anyone else complaining about it.
Do I have something set up wrong in SL? Do I have something set up wrong on my computer? I have a newer Dolby 5.1 suround sound audio card. The problem has been happening for a couple of months now and is getting annoying!!! Especially since I DJ at my own club and some of my friends clubs...If anyone has a clue PLEASE HELP ME OUT... THANK YOU !!!!

There are a few potential issues worth checking... in the audio/movie tab in Preferences, check the Data Bit rate, 32kbps is telephone quality, 64kbps is probably the best one to use, 128kbps is near CD quality. The sound track you are downloading migh be set to a different frequency that the SL client accepts when using embedded sounds, set it at 44,100htz not some recorder software/codex defaults of 48,000htz.
Is there a loose wire in say your speakers or headphones, or maybe the carbon is worn inside a inline volume control (they don't last forever). Pull out your soundboard and rub a rubber(eraser) across the connection tabs, as they become oxidised over time. Have you placed something that uses radio/mocirwave frequencies like a mobile(cell) phone, microwave or other appliance nearby the router or system recently?
The FirstLookVoice client (predesessor to the latest client) did have sound quality issues, but to my knowledge, that has been resolved.

Thanks for the response, i'll give the bit rate thing a shot...as far as everything else i think i'm good...the sound card and speakers are only 4 months old and works great except through SL for the past 2 months...so i'll see if i can find what you were talking about with the bit rate after work...i'll let you...THX AGAIN !!!
