I am having massive trouble trying to figure out what is wrong with this game. It has finally boiled down to being that is has to be something on your side. I keep getting an application error when I try to start up Second Life. It says the Application failed to start properly (0xc0000005). I thought I had it fixed after several reinstallas, virus and ad-aware scans, and cleaning out my comp. After all that I was able to play last night. But now I trun my computer back on to play today and it starts all over. I have up to date drivers. I have no Viruses or Ad-aware that I can detect. I have run AVG, Ad-aware, Spyware Doctor, and Spytbot. I have done full uninstallas including wiping out temps and reinstalls. And I still get this problem. I love this game, but I cant play it since the update. Maybe the update was a bad idea.......

Scar - it sounds like you got a corrupted install download at some point. Here's what I'd do...

1. Uninstall Second Life

2. Manually remove any remaining SL files, including those in:
c:\documents and settings\<name>\application data\secondlife

3. Go to: http://secondlife.com/download and snag a fresh copy of the install package.

Then try to re-install normally.

Good Luck! :)

Edit: I know you mentioned that you may have tried this already. I'd still try one last time - especially in exactly the order above. If you have a corrupted file somewhere that's not getting uninstalled, it wont get overwritten by the fresh installer properly.
