Can't Rez- invisible woman

I can't get my Avi to rez, i have re-logged multiple times, tried changing groups/ edit appearance to no avail, and stayed logged in for about an hour hoping i would eventually pop up. Anyone have any suggestions? All I can see is my hair :/ Have no linden amount, and cant use search.

Try changing your start location in preferences to another area then relog. I was having the same problems and that worked for me.

I trid detaching all attachements in case one of them is bugged, but every time I relog everything is attached again.

I'm invisible, save for my attachments and my L amount isn't showing in my upper right hand corner. I have no clue what's going on, but I can't change my avatar in anyway, since as the stupid thing says, "You cannot change your avatar until the shape and clothing have loaded."

I'm now getting seriously annoyed. I've bug reported, clear cache, uninstalled/installed, the whole bit.

This is getting out of hand. They need to FIX BUGS not make more!

Hello all-

I don't know if y'all have done this yet, but I unclicked Avatar Vertex Program in Preferences and that cleared up my invisi-symptoms right away.

I don't know if that will help with the money not showing up. I hope that gets fixed for you.

Thanks Elle, even though it didn't work for me. I checked an it was on, turned it off (I had reinstalled the proggy to see if that would fix it,) and still invisible. Still unable to edit, change clothing or much of anything.

If this doesn't fix itself over the weekend, I will be calling on Monday, since I didn't even get the "auto-response" on my bug reports! Nor any acknowledgement on the SL Answers. I am NOT a happy player, because the game is unplayable for me right now.

It sounds like we are having the exact same problems you detailed Raudf, unable to play as is. Thank you for the suggestions but nothing has worked so far, I'll keep trying

The only good thing I can say about the problem is that bling is finaly useful. You would not belive the number of people I found only because they were wearing bling.

Okay, if you are having this problem and the L amount isn't showing, first off, from the login screen, change to another region to log in. If the L amount shows up and all that, wait until everything rezzes. You may appear Ruth'd. Simple to fix, just chose your shape.

Thanks Raudf and Harmony, that worked like a charm I still can't TP anywhere, but i can see my Avi and have money again

*Frowns* Didn't work for me.

I had to fly to another sim and relog from there (with it set so that I would be at that point when I logged back in.) When I did this, I was fully operational again....including the money issues.

We hear about these things called 'asset servers', where the original copies of
an object and it's textures get stored.

My theory is that when you log in, your avatar's parts need to get copied from
the asset server to the sim server that handles the region you are logging in to.

If something hoses the copy process, your body won't appear.

If the asset server with your data is down, or the network loses the data
request, or the asset server queue is full so the request is dropped, the
data never gets there, so you remain a ghost.

The problem wouldn't be with the sim server, or you couldn't log in at all to that
location. Bling shows up because those items are stored on a different asset
server box than your body.

Anybody have data to confirm or refute the theory?

The asset server will send the asset's to your client not the sim. If your on a sim people can sometimes see you correctly and others not.. that's because some have the data on their client and others havn't. This is where the local cache helps and does work reasonably well. If it's seen the item recently ( for example your own avatar) usually you'll see it load straight off the bat.

However if, as happened last night, someone has a new item, for example clothing, then if the asset server is overloaded or there are network issues, you won't load correctly. For example one of my friends had a new outfit she wanted to show me. If she went naked I could see her skin just fine ( as her skin had loaded into my cache previously ) but once she put her outfit on she was just gray ( because I'd not seen it before and thus the data was not in the cache and the asset server was playing up ).

This is the same issue with avatars just showing say attachments. I'm guessing there are several asset servers and some are working better than others. So you see attachments but not he body for a while.
