Since today, I suddenly discovered that everything I select starts to glow, or radiate, the light coming from the coloured lines when selecting a prim. Now I wonder how I did this - If this is either a bug, or a setting I managed to change (perhaps something in the new Debug options?) Yesterday I was indeed trying to find a way to remove the yellow and blue lines you see when selecting an object using the debug menu, so I am not completely surprised if I forgot to put some kind of setting back, now resulting in this very beautiful sight: http://labyrinth.kraakpiep.nl/Things/Glow%20Effect%20in%20SL.wmvI'd prefer to know how to toggle or change this, rather then reinstall SL completely again. Cause it sure looks nice! XD (Post copied from the Second Life Answers department so other people can reply as well )

Oh that has been implented since a while now! But yep, I would certainly LOVE to know how to remove it as well. I think you need to play with the .ini file or something like that... Any help out there? Thanks!

Eerks, nvm, not THAT kind of CRAZY glow O.o It sure is beautiful, but I have no idea how your SL managed to do that. Let us know if you figure! G'luck...

I don't know what happened to cause what you're seeing but a way to tone down the "normal" glow is to edit the colors_base.ini file found at c:\program files\secondlife\app_settings\colors_base.ini (sorry, if you're on a mac, you'll have to find it yourself) The section you want to change is: // Outline for selected objects in world Here are the settings I use // Outline for selected objects in world SilhouetteParentColor 240 0 205 50 SilhouetteChildColor 0 255 0 50 HighlightParentColor 240 0 205 50 HighlightChildColor 0 255 0 50 // For "context" highlighting, i.e. pie menu ContextSilhouetteColor 233 200 0 50
Make a backup of your ini and try it. it may help. Kyuubi

After a bit of experimenting, I found that I got giant glows like that if I used CTRL 0 and zoomed in all the way. Not sure if that caused your monster glows. FYI

Found it! SelectionHighlightThickness in debug, standard on 0.010. Don't forget to restart SL though after changing to see the effect

Oh this one is on one of my annoyances with building i wish they never had put in or least give a visible option without digging through pages to find it
Hate it bigtime, make a prim, shove it underground , thats how the glow was before, now its just " HERE I AM GLOWING " thick lines around the prim, beh.

From: Sandling Honey Found it! SelectionHighlightThickness in debug Why do you say this is in debug? ----- addendum ------------ Ooohhh, never mind, I just found the Client Debug Options menu, I'm sure glad I read this thread. Do we have to restart the program for these to take effect?
