Disappearing Prim Attachments

Alright. So a very new player tells me that he lost his prim hair. I think, sure, it's just lost in inventory. He swears up and down that it isn't. I tell him to keep looking.

The next day, I notice my prim hair has disappeared from my head. Is it in my inventory? No. Is it at (0,0) of the sim I was in? No. Did I keep a copy? Not of that particular one.

A Linden conspiracy to rid the world of hoochie hair? Perhaps.

As a consumer in SL, incidents like these do not inspire any desire to do any in-world shopping. It is too easy to lose things with absolutely no recourse.
