Weird problem with groups

I have a large number of groups, and all of them except two are working properly. Unfortunately the two that are not are the most important ones.

If I activate either group and create an object, then look at the General tab, where the Group Name should be there is (???). This never resolves, so it is impossible to allocate objects to these groups.

It's been like this for several days; does anybody have an idea what is going on? It’s a bit worrying, because one of these groups is a landholding group that maintains my tier rate.

We've had the same problem off and on the past week. It comes and goes. Don't know what's causing it except seems to be lag in the info loading.

Well, lag has been appallingly bad lately, but it hadn't occurred to me as a reason, simply because this happens whenever I am in sl, even if I have been there for four hours. But it does make sense, because the other day I got a (waiting) entry for one of the two groups affected.

However this is really a pain - for a week now I have been unable to set an object to the group, which I need to do to get a script to work.

Just part of the rich tapestry of sl, I guess.

I may have found a work around on that one I found it had something to do with changing groups while in sl. The new group didn't seem to take hold (got that (???) but if I grabbed the thing exited sl came back already set to that group I could set it down and have it set to that group.

I also am having this same problem, so frustrating. When i try to "set to group" it comes up as "waiting". I have tried relogging and this hasn't worked either. Not sure how to get around this at all.
