I'm not sure if it means you've been banned or not, but as for the phone call, LL is closed on Sundays. Call again tomorrow and you should get through.

The ONLY reason you would have gotten this message is if your IP was banned. If you have another person in the household who plays and did something serious, this is the result.

...of course, IPs do have a habit of recycling, so if you happen to be on the same ISP as someone who's done something naughty, that could lead to it, too.
But it is a misleading message, isn't it? |

Well, they could make a registry entry to ban you.
But, maybe it your IP address. Try windows-r ipconfig /release windows-r ipconfig /renew This will only work if you're on a dynamic ip address that gets renewed, of course. ANd you're not using a router. _____________________

It's not just you. I'm currently waiting on a reply to an email I sent to support, yesterday. I have a sneaking suspicion there may have been some sort of glitch that resulted in a handful of people getting randomly banned.

I've looked into the data for you two, and I think I've tracked down and removed the blocks responsible. Let me know if you're still having problems.
From the Support Wiki at secondlife.com/help : Question: Why does Second Life say You cannot log into Second Life from this location? Answer This error message generally indicates you have been blocked from the Second Life servers by Linden Lab. These blocks may be automatically placed as the result of documented cases of fraud, use of Second Life by a minor, or exceptionally flagrant abuse activity. Note that these actions may not have occurred on the account you are attempting to log in with! Question: So what can I do about this message? Answer: You can contact Support for assistance with this issue. To ensure that Support can best determine what block has been placed and why it was added, be sure to include in the email your Second Life account name, as well as any Second Life accounts that log in from that location. Question: How can I make sure I don't get blocked? Answer: The most important step is to NEVER give your account information (including password) to anyone else! Always keep your credit card secure. If there are children in the household, or anyone with access to the computer who you do not trust with your billing information, ensure that the Second Life "Remember Password" option is not checked, be sure to always enter your Second Life password manually. Make sure that your web browser does not remember your Second Life password, as well. Be careful when allowing other people to log onto Second Life from your location. Finally, do not provide billing information for accounts that will be used by someone else. |

Thanks a bunch, Lee. It's fixed now. Was this just a random occurrence, or were we actually blocked for a reason? (Not asking for specifics, I just want to know if it was a bug, or a user-caused thing.)_____________________

I've got an idea as to the cause, but I couldn't track it down completely for you two. If someone else runs into this, let me know.

I have the same problem. But I've never played this game before. Nobody replied to the e-mail I sent yesterday. I'm getting really frustrated.

We're seeing more of these due to a recent change to our security systems that places a block on a location if someone who is ineligible for Second Life attempts to register. These new measures are related to the upcoming Teen version of Second Life.

I have just registered for Second Life. (Never have played before) I am getting the message that it cannot be accesed from this computer. Help me out here? I have not had the chance to log in with my account. I thought it may have had something to do with my activation so I went ahead and activated it but still the same error. So now I've paid $10 for nothing. Please Reply.
