Is anyone else having a problem where their avatar appears spikey and naked and wrong?
I've tried 4 different shapes, different skins ,different clothing, everything else around loaded well...

Hello Soontobe, provided you meet the System Requirements, try going to Preferences > Graphics Detail and uncheck Avatar Vertex Program.

also try toggling agp accelleration option in SL as some ati seem to have issues with it and make spikey explodey avatars.
(if youre on a ati vid card anyway) |

someone advised me to update my video drivers, and thay worked like a charm, thanks for the input =) |
