Cannot start SL!

When I click on SecondLife on my desktop, a window popup showing "Loading SecondLife" with the SL logo, then it disappear after 0.5 seconds, and then, nothing happens.

I have uninstalled SL and installed the newest version.
I have installed the newest graphic card driver.

I have a AMD64 3000+ with 512meg of ram, with a GeForce 6600GT 128meg, and WinXP home edition.

Anyone knows what could be the problem?

P.S.: Yes, I also tried running SecondLife directly from the executable file located in the secondlife folder, didn't work

If your Windows operative system gives your admin account a default name, or you choose one, that has characters like "å", "é" and "ñ" Second Life 1.7.x can't any longer load from your windows account. You have to make another account without any special characters in the name and run SL from that account (I choose "Run as..." from my account).
A lot of french and swedish (my case) users have complained about this problem but no official answer seems to have been given. Although running SL as an other user solves the problem it is a pain having to create another account and entering its password every time you want to start SL. This problem also keeps us from being able to access SL locations directly from websites as SL will crash if you click the link from within your account.
I hope this information helps you and reminds the Lindens that we still wait for this problem to be fixed. :3

Yeah, I'm on a french WindowsXP, and creating another user fixed my problem.

When I first started SL I was brought into the game world for about 5 seconds. Then it crashed and a little pop-up came up saying it crashed and asked me to send a bug report. Now everytime I hit connect, it finishes loading, and bam it crashes with the little pop-up.
