Open letter to Linden Labs

First of all, yes i know that most of the things i will write here have been written before.
Second i also know that some funny people will write stuff like "Stop complain"
Third: yes my english sucks but at least I try

Its time for Linden Labs to put the card on the table now. Its time that you explain what the hell is going on with Second Life.

Since i joined SL in the beginning of this year downtime, troble and weird explanations have been normal. But the last week have been absolutely terrible. Nothing works, and i mean nothing. When one thing goes down it takes some time and Lindens blog then tell us that "The problem is resolved" and then mostly the hell starts.
Yesterday was a good example on that. It started slow and after a while more or less all SL was down and as usual people said to each other "What the hell is going on"
The rumours are big right now. I have heard everything from that Linden dont have any more money to pay for new computers to things like "Fox is going to buy Linden and they are working hard now to clear everything out". People who have sims are worried that the the sims is going to disapear and people are more and more talking about "Is there any other onlines worlds like SL?"

Then we have the other thing, The money
People, not all but many, are paying to be in SL. I am one of those people. I pay my 10 bucks for the membership. Me and my partner are also renting a whole sim for our club and apartments. Every day when SL is messing with us we loose money. And i cant say to my landlord that "I wont pay becouse SL is sqrewing with me". The reason is simple: Linden want the money from him.
So the question is, what do i pay for?

I pay for a product that doesnt work at all right now. If i would have bought something in a store and the product was bad i would have return it. But that is something i cant do when it comes to SL. Linden dont even seem to be intrested in explaining the reason why tings are down and broken.
The problem is that Lindens customers will not accept this forever. Already i bet people have left SL becouse of the troubles and more will do that. In the same time Second Life/Linden will get a bad reputation and things like that is hard to shake off.
There will be other onlines words on the net, and honest, right now you can just sit back and relax and look how Linden is dealing with the problems and then just do the opposite.

I Love SL. I have met friends for life here and i have had, and are having, so much fun. But the problems is now taking over the fun. The problems make me loose money and that wasnt the reason i joined.

So maybe its time that Linden change the way they are handling things. Start being honest and open in front of us,the customers.
Dont write Resolved to quick in the blog. Today we all now that Resolved in Linden Language is the same as "GET READY TO GO DOWN"
Explain to us what is going on. Linden need to realise that we who are mad, are mad because the place we love, SL, is sick and we want to hear what Linden are doing to cure it.
Fix the problems and maybe its time to stop taking in new members until you can deal with the members you have.
And, start give something back. Do you honest think that its right taking full charge of the service this mounth when not one day the last weeks have been free from problems?

As i said, I love SL and i love the people in SL. I love the idea of a free world were you can do what you want. But even it its SL i love, its my RL wallet that loose money right now.

So finaly: What is going on with Second Life?


P.s Right now, during the Login Issues, the TP went down 50 min ago. Not a word from Linden in SL or in the blog yet. D.s

I love the place as much as tou do .I am glad I only invest litle money ,I was going to invest a lot ,but after all this I will be here ,when i can log in ,just for the fun .
this problem want be fixit for an other 5 or 6 days

If I buy a product and it turns out to be shit I have two choices; put up with it or buy a different product. Vote with your feet if you don't like SL, my friend.

So one has to be in the "we are living on the bright sight of life" group here or to leave SL?

everything mentioned has been going on for years, so this would mean either deal with it, or go away

I have had it with the none stop bitching and bitching.. yeah I know SL has been shitty for the past week but get the fuck over it. Constant bitching and complaining isnt going to do shit. Just really hilarious. For all you know it alls out there trying to tell LL how to do their job. since you obviously know what the problems are here go here and good luck

I'd love to pay for SecondLife. My income is low, but really, I wouldn't mind. The thing is, every time I even come close to wanting to do so, I lose inventory, the grids get mass attacked, then things like last night... (read this:/111/3a/225673/1.html#post1774821)

Sometimes I feel like quiting even tho I am a free account. Bu the truth is, I may be a basic account, but I make hundreds of thousands of L. I held the number one spot for full av body armor on SLX for about half a year. I currently have made the most detailed and most feature packed stormtrooper armor in SL. I've made the only crowbar that I know of in SL. I've made the only half-life barnicle that I know of in SL.

Point is, I'm making more L than most pay per months. I'm also being more productive. I hold a nice Instructors spot, about to be a mentor as well. + Being well known for my armor.

I really would HATE to leave that. But heck, I mean I'm a BASIC and still can not enjoy SL.

I've dedicated my time to rid Greifers and Terrorists. I work as a volenteer under-man for Lindens to help track down where Grid-Attacks are starting, and more.

I have quite the role to play in SL. I think the only reason I am still in here is that, I like helping others, and I like my place. Also it wouldn't help that I've made so many friends, and fans, that would miss me, and well, any future projects i'd have in store.

I still love SL, but most of the time it is issue after issue. The worst being last night dealing with objects.

I mean, what if that happens more, then I couldn't even do the one thing I really love.

We all know, what makes SL so special, is the ability to create objects, manipulate them, and create things within the world itself. If we can not even do that, well, we all know what will happen.

Some of you say, if I don't like it, join the LL team. Welp, I would. Thing is I'm a pretty lazy person. Sure my job currently is low income, but I can actually work when I want, and not, when I don't wish to. It's a really nice set up, to tell you the truth.

I don't like having to be told, "Hay, you will work so and so days, at so and so time." I just, can't do that. Heh...

If SL can run a nice and long time without issue after issue, you can have my money. Till then, I feel at times, not even giving you my time.

First welcome to second life.............

You have many good thoughts and you have the right to complain. There is no buts. Problem is LLABS no longer cares because there is nolonger any control in the game. Just look at the popular listing. how many do you count that are camper money style islands? 18 to 21? its indeed sad. The UI is a mess (wind light has some promise) thats if they follow their own understand and don`t rely of false and incorrect bug reports, which happened they last time. If llabs spent more time dealing with customer server and less with llabs related drama ( which is still alive and well on sl ) we would have a less junked up UI and a better stable game. LLAbs just added a few more servers so we should be better now right? Well no because if the tech monkeys are no good enough no matter what the game is still worthless. No this is not suppose to be drespressing, ( who wants it to be). But if there was a little more smarts and all pride within the lindens groups ( and i not talking about RAH RAH lindens that say only good and no bad that sit there with rose covered glasses and saying the wind light skys are pretty and bright. But instead are dark and gloomy). The well being in a better situlation.............Until then we sit in a dark ages of Second Life until the rebirth of a once wonderful and pridedful game once again is fun and enjoyable to play.

Its up to you LLABS what will it be

You're doing no better. People are fed up with the lousy performance and the way nothing seems to get fixed and fixed properly. Instead of fixing the many issues that plague sl they're adding new content of pretty lights and whistles.

The op like many others are stating what they feel and as paying customers or as players who spend their money in sl they have the right to say what they feel.
