Ever since this last update, the friends list isn't working properly again. I logged on and it showed just 1 person online, but then the moment I IM'ed someone to leave a message, then all of a sudden that person is instantly online. Then it showed another friend being offline, but he just IMed me and then it wasn't for a couple of mins before the blue box said he was online.

I had that after the last update -- uninstalled, reinstalled SL -- immed Live Help...was told to get a new video card. What it really was, was low bandwidth/packet loss on my end. A router reset and I have been great ever since (well, not great, still shows people on or off when they aren't) but Voila! at least most of the list is there....
You may want to check the bandwidth...not that its the issue or a cure...just a suggestion...

I have many people on my friends list. I sell a lot of land so I am added to residents lists for any issues that may arise. As a result of having such a great many people on my list, I must keep online friend notifications turned off or it would drive me out of my mind. I am wondering if the presence issue has been tested and QC'ed with this particular preference checked.
