The individually streamed mp3 links on my land work mostly.
A few of the individual mp3 links play for about 30 seconds and then stop.
My movie streams are in mp4 format and work fine for about 20 minutes but then they start to lag and freeze altogether as if there is not enough buffer space somewhere.
What I would like is a causal explanation of this so I can try to find the best way to present media on my land.
I have maximised my cache and bandwidth.
I'm connected via cable modem.
The mp3 files that are streaming from various places are between 2MB and 14MB.
They stream fine using quiktime outside of the SL client.
The movies stream very well outside of the SL client using media player but the color is distorted by the latest version of quiktime (that doesn't mean i'm going to let you just jump to the conclusion that it's apple's fault the way a truly lazy admin would
).Related Questions:
Is my client getting it's media directly from the link address or is it passing through ll servers?
What happens to media when it passes through the ll/SL servers?
