In reviewing several Forums Threads, including this one, there seems to be a significant increase in issues regarding textures loading, including basic terrain textures, too. Does grid load, numbers of concurrent logins, etc... and the associated increased server hits cause such types of issues?
I am not a techie, but a certain intuitiveness tells me that huge increases in the inworld popullation, say over 8,000 has to have and effect on the LL server's ability to deliver and render content in a timely manner.
While we all can have huge bandwidth on our side, it is possible there are serioius log jams developing downstream, aka, the SF area backbone and LL servers when grid load is high?
