Since the update to 1.10 etc, I've had alot more problems with crashing and freezing, just being able to walk around and change camera angles is a chore now. Please try to UNLAG things first before more usless (to many of us) updates. THX

Moved to Technical Issues.
I've had a few nasty crashes myself, and I really do hope you'll be crashing less. I've seen several posts like this come up on the forums. :\ I'm going to copy-and-paste this general advice... First basic steps are to uninstall and reinstall SL completely, and making sure that you meet the System Requirements, also be certain your graphics card drivers are up-to-date. More info on how to do that is here: http://secondlife.com/tiki/tiki-index.php?page=TechUpdateGraphics Please be sure to send in your crash logs--that box that comes up whenever SL crashes. More info will help us fix it. Go to PREFERENCES > GENERAL tab and at the bottom, CRASH REPORTS should be "Always send". You can also contact Support for further assistance. Best of hope with this. _____________________

wow...i'm to the point where i'm relogging about every 10-15 minutes. i've done all the suggested "fixes", which i know to be "we really don't know what the problem is, so try this" fixes from my days as a software QA manager.
some other things i've noticed: - things have been getting progressively worse over the last 4-5 hours - the longer i spend in a sim, the longer it takes for me to tp out (in some cases i have to relog to home to get out of a sim) - there is no marked improvement in performance after relogging...used to be you relog and things are fine for a while - not so anymore...i'm relogging back into the same cement shoes i left - packet loss/bandwidth indicators give no clue as to what's going on...they could look comletely fine but i'm still etched in stone and headed for a crash hope they can get things together soon... |
