Using the just-released SL version, turning off all of the volume sliders except "master" (ambient, sounds, etc.) I still hear a fairly loud splashing noise that is sometimes very annoying.
Is there a way to stop that particular noise? Without turning off the master volume?

I'm having the same problem, did you ever find a way to fix this, that sound is driving Me nuts.

I heard it too and went back to the old version...turned off wind noises completely and it seems to help ...

I'm having the same problem. I can be 700m in the air, and hear waves crashing.. It happens no matter where I go, i try to ignore several objects and even that doesn't work.
Can Anyone offer any fixes?

If memory serves, if you put the roll-off slider (on the audio button page of Preferences) to a value of .3 or larger, you will hear an end to the splashing from someone's fountain. It's the bottommost slider, whatever its name is. When I like to hear my whole sim, nearly, I put it at .10
