I would think they mean in the profile dialog, below the tabs, on the right, labeled Online: and below it will say yes no or unknown.

I don't know why the system can't tell if someone is online or not. It would seem like it ought to know.

AHA! No you can't set that.. I believe it knows when someone if online or offline if you choose their name from find.. If you pull up their profile in an IM, or from an object they've created.. IT says Unknown..

If you don't have the person's calling card, their online status is "unknown".
