I purchased a parcel today..a 1024 for 12300 lindens and divided it for resale….I split it into two 512 parcels…and then went to put them both up for sale for 7150 each…I definitely had a green line down the center of my parcel…dividing it into two parcels…I put one up for sale for 7150, and the second that I clicked the confirmation for putting it up for sale…the green line disappeard…the parcels reverted into a single parcel of 1024 again, and a landbot swooped it in half a second A landbot run by Zor Zeddmore, of course both the bot and Zor ignore my request to make things right…so I am out 5150 lindens…and so I called the concierge support, to fix this obvious problem…
I got hold of Guy Linden, and he came to the parcel and did some sort of “examination” while I waited..then told me he could do NOTHING. There is obviously an undocumented bug in the system…I am hardly in the habit of buying land and selling it for much less than I buy it for…and I sure saw the green line on the parcel.
So…basically, the lindens are supporting the “right” of the landbots to rip us off, because of a bug in THEIR systems????…I want everyone to know…buy land at your own risk in this game…you have a better chance keeping your money if you just flush it…

Server lag. Count to 60 after splitting a plot. I have seen it happen when I have split plots on my island, sometimes they will revert. Sometimes they will revert then resplit. Slow down next time and save yourself some greif.

Unfortunately, Dnel is right.... it's the same thing with building or rezzing when sometimes you drag something from your inventory, and nothing apppars in world. So you try again, and again, and finally after a few times, you surrender. Suddenly, after 40 seconds, all the dragged objects appear at once.

The issue land wise has been resolved (its rather hard to return land while im offline getting food), but I my self have noticed a lot of small parcel gliches.
One of them that allowed me to attempt to sell land I didnt even own. (not that it actually went though) but the sale daulog box randomly changed parcels on me.

I think anyone who deals with land regularly will know that the parcel lines in the Gui are often wrong or extremely laggy. I wouldn't trust them at all. However, I've never know a parcel to give the wrong size in the for sale window. Not only that, it even tells you the rate per sqm you are setting your land to right there so it can be really helpful to double check what you're about to do.

Hmm that is indeed a bad bug if it is indeed one. It reminds me of the pre bot days when users tried to mess with human speculators by doing a quick bait n switch, but i'm sure that isn't the case here. Just reminded me of that for some reason. Nevertheless this is something to be watchful for when parceling up your land for sale.

From: Zor Zeddmore the sale daulog box randomly changed parcels on me. This happened to me recently. Well, sorta. I rent a large parcel on a private island for a store, and the owner of the island was clearing out a neighbor and had IM'd me asking if I wanted their parcel also. I teleported in to have a look-see, and realized that she had reverted ownership of my entire parcel back to herself. I asked why, and she replied that she hadn't. Then she double-checked, and indeed she had. The dialog had given her the wrong parcel, even though she had quite deliberately right-clicked on the correct parcel, and she hadn't double-checked it to ensure that she reverted the correct parcel. I think it's relatively common to believe the land dialog. Good thing she asked if I wanted the neighbor's parcel and I teleported to see before she returned my store (it's huge) and all of the vendors in it. I probably would have been totally upset, and my wife would have been devastated.

Isn't it funny

Isn't it funny that the Landbot users are on the forums here defending their practice. Don't believe them. They are crooks and should be banned from SL for good. I have been the victim of this kind of nonsense myself. Personally, I'm sick of it. Ryan

I'm simply making the point that the mistake (in my opinion and experience) was Temporal's. Not Linden Lab's, not Guy Linden's and not really Zor's either.

From: Elanthius Flagstaff In this particular comment I was not defending anyone. I'm simply making the point that the mistake (in my opinion and experience) was Temporal's. Not Linden Lab's, not Guy Linden's and not really Zor's either. As much as I try to stay out of these threads, I find I cannot agree with that at all. If the user interface and server are telling you that something was done, and you can see the direct results of that something, then decide based on the OBVIOUS feedback that it is safe to continue with your succeeding actions, and then, magically, after you have finished, it reverts, then it is a BUG in the SYSTEM. As such, this is Linden Lab's fault, and they should be held accountable for it. We can pontificate all day long about whether compensating for LL's shortcomings and incompetency in the engineering department should be a burden the user must be prepared to accept but, at the end of the day, the liability is (and should rightly be) solely Linden Lab's.
