Hi,
I am using a NVIDIA GeForce FX 5700LE 256MB video card, and I am getting booted out of SL constantly. I have used 4 different driver sets ranging from the newest to ones from Dec of 2005. Nothing seems to fix my problem. I also have 1GB of ram with an AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3200+ with video running at 1152 x 864 (32 bit) (85Hz) resolution. Someone suggested I make a profile to run the game in "SLI" mode, and it might clear it up, as SL is not one of the games supported by Nvidia's drivers. Anyone else having this same grief, and if so did you fix it? I'm also thinking of going to buy the Nvidia 7600GS video card, seems people have had good luck with it.

donlizard Hunt SLI mode is only supported on SLI cards, and if you have two of them. The FX series is not SLI. So setting up a SLI profile will do nothing for you. Nvidia's drivers support SecondLife just fine, they just dno't have a profile for SLI yet. As for why you'regetting booted, I don't know. Are you on broadband or dial-up?

You say you are getting booted out of SL. Can you give more information on that? Do you get any error messages that suggest it is your video card causing the problem? Are you wearing attachments? Do the booting out occur in some places more than otherss?
Did you use any special "driver cleaner" utilities to remove any improperly left behind traces of relaced drivers?
Are they still doing Omega drivers for nVidia? I seem to recall some kind of problem between the Omega driver maker and nVidia.
Have you fiddled iwth the AGP setting, if that is possible, and have you tried setting the video ram size in SL preferences to lower than 256 megs?

Nvidia 7600GS video card series are a nice card......Works well and they very very strong. You did not try the 91.47 driver?! http://www.nvidia.co.uk/object/winxp_2k_91.47_uk.html They are working with your current video card the LT series video card is not that stable as the other series cards these days.......

Problem solved!

Hi, Thank You for all your help, but I figured out what it was. I purchased a higher end video card (Nvidia 7600 GS) and the problem persisted. But this card allowed me to see the error reports Windows was collecting, before the crash completed. In the end It looked like a video problem when it turned out to be a Ram problem. Over time 2 of the same Ram modules will start to drift with use in what gets allocated and where, heat from each other and etc will change them. I removed them from the machine, blew out the slots and replaced them and staggered them in the existing 3 slots, and the machine is rock solid now. Once again Thank You to everyone for their concern in this matter. Donlizard
