Is AGP now enabled for ATI cards?

I installed the new version of SL before work, but SL was still down. However, I noticed that my AGP option is no longer grayed-out and I was able to check that option. Since I'm too impatient to wait until I get home from work to test for myself... is the AGP option truly enabled for ATI cards, and does it offer performance improvements?

My card is the ATI Radeon x850XT, so maybe the AGP option is available only for certain ATI cards.. I'm just curious if anyone else noticed this change, or if it's a bug.

I have same card, and it is for me. I seem to get about 5-7 more FPS.

I've got a new el-cheapo radeon xpress 200. The AGP box still doesn't light, but 10.6 feels lots faster.

I used to run 64m, no clouds, no particles, details rock-bottom except really close objects, clouds and particles off, local lighting on (except when it really really looks nice, which makes it cost too much, sigh).

I noticed a dramatic improvement today, bumped up to 96m, life was still better than before even in a crowded lagged sim (Goguen with the script kiddies playing with guns again). Then I noticed I'd forgotten to turn clouds off on login. Those used to be 2-3-4+fps laggers all by themselves, and showstoppers when flying in them.

In short, I was playing SL with just barely enough box to scrape by.

Not any more.

Somebody deserves a little quiet respect.
