well, I can CHANGE it.. it just doesn't play. at all. ever.
I posted on this once, already, but the post has disappeared somehow.
Here's what happened: I tried to change the sound media url on my lot in dowden the other day. I did it just as I always do: I edit the land settings, go to 'media', and paste in a new URL.
exit. Nothing. no music. so, I tried to revert back to the original. Again, nothing. no music. I relog, come back in. No music. Rebooted my computer, come back in. Still nada.
Now, my place is pleasant enough, but it's a tad quiet without some soft jazz playing. Anyone else hae this problem? If so, how did you rectify it?
Give me your thoughts, please.

Did you try pressing the play button?
I think it may be off by default now.

Thanks for trying, though

Try opening preferences, clicking apply then ok and maybe relog, this will resave your settings file and relogging will reload them.

Hope this helps! From: someone Problem: My streaming audio doesn't work.
Typical Cause: You may have Streaming Music disabled. You may have clicked Stop on the stream. The link may be incorrect (may link to a webpage that displays the actual link to the stream). The stream may be in the wrong format. The stream may have too many users connected. The stream may be down.
Potential Solutions: Go to Preferences (Ctrl+P), and click the Play Streaming Audio box under Audio. If the Play/Stop button is on the bottom of your screen, click it so it says Play and turn up the volume slider next to it. Copy the stream URL and paste into your web browser. If the link pulls up your audio player and plays, the link is correct. If the link pulls up a web page, the link is incorrect. (You need the "Listen" URL on that webpage that launches your audio player.) If the URL launches your player but the stream does not play, the stream may be offline, or have too many users connected. If you are using a URL from someone else's land, it is likely that the stream has too many users connected. If the stream is not one that you are hosting, the stream may be offline.
