Anyone else having problems with huge ping times?

Sometimes I can't connect and when I do, I get ping times in the 1.5 - 2.5 seconds range. This seams to be regardless of what sim I'm in. In the one that I was building in today, there's hardly anyone in the region yet, the simFPS was at ~3000, and my client side FPS was up to about 30 FPS, which is pretty good for me... the only thing that wasn't as low as it should have been was the ping time. On top of that, I tried to do a manual ping and got nothing but timeouts. However, I can ping pretty much any other domain and get an average result of about 50ms.

I haven't changed anyhing on my comp at all. I tried resetting any/all hardware. I've done a full virus scan just for kicks. I'm not having problems with any other website or internet app or anything.

Now it seems a good friend of mine is having the same problem and he's using a different ISP and is about 200 miles away.

Has anyone else been experiencing much higher than normal ping times even in what should be lag free areas? I'm 99% sure this problem has nothing to do with my hardware... and I try to save calling the ISP support line for the last resort.

Same here. Pings ranging from 800-2500. Highly unsual since about one week.
