What the Hell!? SL's Given me a Constant Audio Echo

I'm running an "SB Live! Audio [B800]" sound card on my rig here to get that out of the way.

Now what's driving me insane is that I have to run SL to get rid of a constant Audio echo on my computer. I tried uninstalling SL and that didn't even fix it. It sounds like all the music I play is coming from inside a cave or something >_< And worst of all I can't log into SL anyway to play the game thanks to some sort of bug or some crap.

I've tried every god damned setting under the sun in audio settings and my SB Live! AudioHQ program (the one which must control the special settings on my card) doesn't open when I try to get to it through control panel as if it isn't there. And to make things even worse I can't find anywhere to download the stupid software again. Thank you SoundBlaster for that one.

I don't have a home stereo/hi-fi system to play music on so my PC is my only source for audio entertainment, all of my CD's are stored on it and I use it to listen to the radio online too most of the time so this is a pretty big deal for me considering I can't live with it any longer, it just makes me angry now.

I've also uninstalled SL but I suppose I'll have to reinstall it now. If anyone has any ideas for the love of all that is good and holy, speak up before I... rip my ears off or something. >_< I really have better things to do than try to fix this anyway... I mean when a program actually changes something on your PC in the hard wired settings and then even when you tell it to bugger off it leaves that setting changed, well that's some serious flaw in my opinion. Dunno about anyone else... anyway...

Thanks...

Are you sure you are not getting feedback through the mic? Have a look at the EAX console, make sure the audio effects are unchecked, and then bring up the mixer. Check that the Line in/Mic channel is muted.

(Apologies if you've already done all this.)
