Ok So I just got this laptop... http://www.gateway.com/home/products/ret/ret_MX6453.shtmlThought it'd run secondlife great, I mean at least 10fps.. but I'm getting 3 or 4... its a consistant 3 or 4, eg it remains constant whether the sim I am in is empty or chock full, but surely despite the intergrated graphics card I should be able to get at least 10fps? its got 2 gigs of ram! and 2 64 bit processors!! Someone help, I only got this thing for SL and its about as much use as a doorstop. Infact the computer I bought it to replace runs SL better. So i'm pretty unhappy. I've tried getting new drivers, I've tried setting affinity, is there any way I can increase my performance? Does anyone else have this laptop and have similar problems?

laptops are known for being poor choice performance wise
Video ATI RadeonĀ® Xpress 1150 Integrated Graphics with up to 128MB of shared video memory
It is very bad to me, especially cause it use shared memory

whats is your screen resolution? try reducing it to 1280X800 if it is higher(do this in windows settings, not game). also make sure you have latest driver from ati, not gateway. laptop manufacturers are notorious for not keeping up with video drivers. you may need modded driver from 3rd party ie;omega. also check you sl settings, you may need to lower them, ie; draw distence, turn off antialiesing and such. check the global video driver settings, and set for performance or balance.

Dual core CPU, see sticky above or try the First Look viewer.

you need to set the program to run in only 1 processor. sl doesnt support dual processors yet. if youre running the program, press the windows key, sl will minimize. ctrl+alt+del, find second life in the processes tab. right click, and set it to use one cpu. should give you a little bit of a speedup.
