Positioned item right out of region..help!!!!!

So I was positioning my brand new "Cozy Arbor w/ Poses" on my roof and my hand jerked a little bit and the next thing I know my "Cozy Arbor" disappeared off into the horizon. I had the assitance of Spike Linden who checked the region I was in for the item and he said he could not find it in the region. He said I must have edited all the way into another region. So now what? I have waited three days for someone to auto return it. Is it possible that I could have landed it so pefectly unknowingly that another avatar is now enjoying my "Cozy Arbor w/ Poses"?
I really have enjoyed the humor in this situation but now I am growing agitated that I have spent a nice amount of Linden on an item that I can not enjoy or use.
Can anyone offer any suggestions on how to find my item?

i lost a freebie parrothead pool once... 7 months or so now, and it has never been returned. and i never found it. i wish you could track items, or that people would use some sort of auto return...

There are various scanners you can get to scan the sim in the direction you think you send the item. You will need to scan at the height that you were at when you lost it though, since scanners only work at a range of 96 meters.

If you want, when I log on later today, I will IM you and I can come do some scanning.. I have most all the scanners made since I am a pack rat pixie..

How about a party at my place! Anyone who wants to help me try and find my missing Arbor IM me later today when I am online. My house is a beach house surrounded by water so it could be stuck in the ocean swimming with the fishes! Bring all gadgets and homing devices.
Also if you have an arbor sticking out of the side of your house or see one sticking out of the side of a mountain or something please IM me with the location. I will come and retreive it.

Title of item is "Cozy Arbor w/ Poses"
It is a wood arbor containing a jacuzzi, fireplace, and cushions with pose balls.
The arbor itself was a blueish gray color.

I will offer a reward to who ever locates it! I will pay 25L or return the favor in other ways if Linden does not interest you!

I've just done the same thing as Constance. I bought a diving board and all was fine, rezzed it at my fish tank in Kot, but I had to log out and when I got back the diving board was gone and I can't find it anywhere. PLEASE HELP!!!!

That doesn't sound like quite the same thing, Nora.

Have you checked your Lost/Found folder for it? Maybe it got returned.

Check your trash folder for it, in case it got deleted.

Outside of that, unless you set it to group ownership, or "allow anyone to move", it still should be right where you placed it. However, it is possible that the sim you were in crashed before it did its hourly backup of its local database, and it is gone. I hope it wasn't a no-copy item, but if it was, you may have to buy another copy from the creator. :-/

I shot the floor of my home off horizontally across regions before... I noticed that you can start from your home and fly in the direction you think it went crossing sims and watching the mini map it will indicate in turquoise if you have anything out there...(it may be a feature you have to turn on) but thats how I found my floor 3 sims away.

of course it was no copy, I've looked through every folder in my inventory. and I can't get the creator to IM back.... it isn't it isn't in my lost and found or trash those are the first places I looked.

I stilll haven't found my Arbor! I think the region is Buttermere. I know it is not in the region. I went flying over in to the next region and found someone's bed sticking out of the side of a mountain. That were happy to recover it. So if you see my arbor again please contact me! It started in Buttermere.

Why does it matter if is no copy or not? Should I be trying to find the maker of the item?
