I just started today. My appearance mode is crashing. I can't tell what I look like until I save and sit down somewhere. This is very frustrating. What can I do?

i see that 30 people have viewed my post and no one is responding, so much for forums that offer no help!!!
Thankfully I have been able to work around this problem but it still would be nice to recieve some feedback.

I suspect one is responding because no one has ever exerienced the same problem and so has nothing useful to say.

Most would asked for pc 'spec , to see if you have a intel vid card mostly try clearing SL cache folder disable avatar vertext in preference disable vbo also in preference shorten view distance update drivers (yeh that again) tune down object/avatar detail slider, this can crash me , but its pretty rare last , try another sim, may be some hoochie hair torus that make your client go blah pretty much what i can think of right now, theres about 400 other threads about this , -.- but search in this forum is pretty annoying

Thank you for responding, I tried most of that but maybe the other options will work. I want to start designing clothes and this issue could start to be a pain. I didn't mean to sound rude, by the way, I'm just frustrated. Thanks again.

From: Ophelia Demina Thank you for responding, I tried most of that but maybe the other options will work. I want to start designing clothes and this issue could start to be a pain. I didn't mean to sound rude, by the way, I'm just frustrated. Thanks again. Are you by chance trying to create a new article of clothing from within the appearance editor window? If so, I think it's a "known bug" that's it's not working properly (it either crashes you or just simply will not work). You can modify the properties of your clothing with no problem though. I would resort to making the new article of clothing in your inventory window first (right-click->New Clothes->Type of Clothing). If it's crashing you immediately upon opening the window, I'd re-install SL. Hope this helps!
