SL won't start up at all :(

I just downloaded SL for the very first time the other day. When I went to start it up, it crashed every time. As soon as I would click on anything in the log in screen, the program would just stop responding. I know it is not something wrong with SL because I never even got even close to being inworld. My graphics card is an ATI Radeon 9600. I meet all of the system requirements. I was just wondering if there were any other known problems (viruses, spyware, etc.) that would make SL keep locking up like that on my computer? This is very distressing because I don't know what to do. I've gone through the technical support wizard and the solutions either don't fit me or don't solve the problem. Can anyone help me?

Ive got the same problem.

ive downloaded the software, registered etc. I try to log in to Second Life and it goes along, asks me if I want the music etc, then as soon as the thing finishes and gets to the end of the line just before getting in, it crashes and I get a Second Life Crash Logger pop up box - EVERY time.

At first I managed to get in for about 5 seconds before crashing. Now it just crashes straight away.

Thank heaven it's happening to someone else. I knew it couldn't be just me. What's going on? This update seems to have caused a bootyload of problems for everyone!

so im not the only one ...lol .. i get .. sl isnt repsonding .. then i looging out of sl ..i get the sl crash logger ... i log back in get it again but takes me like 2-5 minutes for logger to go thou- before i can get back in

then as weel my flex hair has a beaded light effect on the sides of it ... and i now i cant even put on my ears and tail for my kitty ...

and hud wont work as i know others are having the same troulbes too ..

then When i do the pie menu on my self i get a pop-up like grey shadow type thing not sure how to explain it i didnt have it before and some times it sticks on me ??

Y'all's problems still seem good compared to mine, because I have never even been in Second Life AT ALL. That's why I was thinking that it was something having to do with my computer because I have never been inworld. It just locks up at the log in screen and I have never been able to log in. I hope I still get a weekly stipend for signing up with a paying account because by the looks of things, by the time I finally find out what the problem is, I'll be rolling in the Lindens!

I used to be able to get in for up to eight hours at a time (I know, amazing). Now I can't even get SL to respond long enough to type in my name or password to try and log in. At this point I'd take freezing at the pre-cach screen. Seriously. At least I'd get to see the back of my character's head.

Mine is somewhat the same, P4 2.6ghz, radeon m 9600, i gig ram, so i dont think its my pc specs. It was fine for the day i used it before the 1.11.0.9 update, since then i have had one successful logon, now every time i run SL, it pulls up the logon screen and freezes. From then on it pulls 98% of my processor. Anyone have ANY ideas?

I've tried everything. I've done all kinds of scans on my computer (for spyware and such). STILL NOTHING! Is it a laptop thing? I mean, am I getting discriminated against because I don't have a desktop pc? Just kidding, but seriously though, do laptop users have more problems? I've uninstalled and reinstalled. Nothing. I called tech support and the man (who I couldn't even understand because his accent was SO heavy) told me to email him with some information and I did, but no one has written me back. At this point I don't even know what I should be doing
