Hi,
I'm hoping that someone here can help me out with a problem that has been going on for a couple of months now. If I cant get this sorted then I'm just going to have to cancel my account as I'm throwing quite a bit of money away every month.

Whenever I log in I last about 3 minutes or so before my av just freezes and refuses to move. I also cant type, so cant actually say anything to anyone. Everything else carries on around me and i can turn on the spot but I cant go left, right, up or down. I end up logging out and in again only for the same thing to happen all over again. This has been going on for months and I'm hardly ever on SL now because of it yet still paying membership and land fee's.

I'm afraid I'm not at all technical so I dont have the faintest idea of whats wrong or how to fix it. I'm hoping that this is a problem others have encountered and can maybe talk me (in basics) through a solution.
What I can say is that this has all occured around about the time we got a router to link the mac and the pc up on the same broadband connection. so I'm not sure of that is anything to do with it. The problem is the same regardless of whether or not I am logging in on the mac or the pc.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

It sounds to me like the router could be the problem somehow.

Have you tried bypassing the router and connecting straight to Broadband, to see if that works OK? If so, that's your answer.

It could be something to do with the firewall in the router (assuming there is one, most do), and if one of the communication ports SL needs to use is blocked by the router, then it'll just sit there like a lemon waiting for information that never arrives.

If my first suggestion works, I'd give LL tech support a ring and ask them for advice - they might be able to give you the relevant information for you to ring up your router manufacturer's tech support and they can tell you how to open up the relevant ports etc.
