inventory drops fail in 1.6.x

Inventory drops seem to be horribly broken in 1.6.x. If you drop an item on an avatar profile, logged in or not, there seems to be about an 80% chance that the recipient will not receive it. This happens despite the traditional confirmation message "X is offline, inventory will be saved". I have heard from others that this is "well known" and new to 1.6. We even did some testing today and found that two items could be transferred, no error indication and one is received and the other isn't.

This is obviously not a client side issue. It is clearly not user error. Yes, I have bug reported it; I have also been told to not expect response or recompense. This is particularly embarrassing as I had purchased gifts for two close friends and they did not recieve them.

What gives? Historically, LL has been quick to address issues that are money and asset affecting yet I can find no note that this is even known, let alone scheduled to be fixed. My apologies if this has been addressed, but I did search extensively first.

No one else really? Or is it so widespread it doesn't warrant mention?

I got some stuff in my inventory but did not receive the notice about it. When I logged on and saw no notice I thought it did not come, but it was there afterall. That is the abnormality I have noticed. I have not tested enough to know how it is working overall.

I don't think I've seen quite that but I think when I tried to give an item to a user whose inventory had not been updated, they didn't get the item.

And of course now you just don't get notifications because off line messaging is down in both email and in world..

I do however see complaints on slexchange's forms about items not being delivered...

wonder if anyone buying my things has had issues.. not that I've heard anything while not in world..

A little different, but I dropped a folder on a friend, a piece of clothing. She got the two notecards that were in the folder but not the clothing. After checking further I saw it was no transfer. Shouldn't I have gotten a notice or something?

I purchased 1000L worth of stuff on SL Exchange and haven't received any of the items. I have email receipts for all and have sent messages to the sellers. I've posted in the SL Exchange forums to no avail. It seems that no one in authority is willing to address this problem or re-imburse me. This is the first time I've tried out SL Exchange and I am very dissappointed with the service.

I am also not receiving IM's when logged off of the game or in email.

I think there is something slowing the IM/package delivery..

as I logged into today, to see an offline message that I got the email too on the 8th, but just got it in game today (11th)...so strange that I got the email, but no SL notification until today...

Michael, I have at least one instance that confirms your experience. One of the test items we transferred to an off-line AV was delivered approximately 2 RL days later.
