Is This Getting Fixed!

I can not teleport anywhere without getting booted and once logged back in i cant fly anywhere as it keeps going and i get booted, I cant walk anywhere otherwise i end up under ground, and its not my computer and my computer is recently new and updated reguarly (howeva that word is spelt) I've even tested it on a different computer still no change, so it is definatley not my computer
I am just wondering is this getting fixed or going to stay the same?
This has only happened since the 1.7 update and just seems to be getting worse with every patch

Sounds like you are getting disconnected from the server somehow. Being in Australia may be part of the problem. If you are getting excessive ping times it would cause similar problems. Firewalls and wireless connections can do the same thing as well.

I have the same exact problem. I live in Washington State, U.S. I TP to some where then when go to fly the rest of the way, I cant stop... I just keep going on, untill I get logged off. same thing with walking.... end up underground. My computer runs with a very highly known and advanced graphics card so I know its not my computer....

Yea its a bit of a bummer but guess we'll just have to be patient and hope it all gets sorted, and hopefully real soon

The symptoms described indicate you are being disconnected from the server. Any time you walk or fly and keep going, able to turn but not move or go into the ground means there is a disconnect. Excessive ping times due to you ISP, bad connection, wireless or a multitude of other reasons. It usually isn't the computer itself but something between the back of the computer to the sim server in San Fransisico. The farther away from California you are, the higher the ping times simply due to distance, throw in a satallite link up in the mix and SL may not work at all.

You need to do a ISP line speed test, Toast.com has a good speed test. Take several tests and make sure you are consistantly getting over 300kbps for SL to work well.

The support wiki describes how to run a ping test to LL servers to verify you aren't getting excessive ping times. Make sure the packet loss isn't excessive either.

Been playing from Australia for months (though you wouldn't know it from the join date on the forums and number of posts.. I have 100's of posts and joined well before September 2005) and playing from <insert country here> is not a sympton or a cause for any problem that the latest 1.7.x patches have caused.

I only offer it as one of many causes. It is an undeniable fact the farther you are from California the higher the ping times simply due to distance. Now, if 1.7 lowered the tolerance for long ping times it could be causing the problems easily. Checking ping and dropped packets is one of the first things to check no matter where you are if you are having these problems. Its the first thing techsupport is going to tell you to do. If you look at the support wiki (which no one seems to do) it tells you all about this.

Posting your ping times and packet loss statistics, your computer specifications and then telling the Lindens this worked for 1.6 but not for 1.7 will get you a lot further toward a solution than "Fix this crap now!!" ever will.

Hiya Kath I get what ya saying about distance but someone in california i was speaking to is having the xact same problems so I very much doubt it has anything to do with distance at all
And besides everything was working fine before the 1.7 update i could teleport and everything, but now I can't, and i have submitted numerous crash reports to LL but not got any responses

Hi Natalie,

Some questions for you:

1) When you do a 'Find' for a person or place, do you wind up getting kicked off as well?

2) Are you running behind a router?

3) Have you tried adjusting your bandwidth down under Preferences > Network?

With 1.7.x, it appears that Linden Lab has increased network utilization, and I am willing to bet that you are getting 'flooded' offline. I was having similar problems as well (under 1.6) even though I am only some 3500 km away from their servers.

Answers to your questions

1) No, finding people and places works fine, its just when i teleport try to fly or walk i get booted, however in acontia where i own land it works fine i can walk and fly majority of the time

2) No i'm not behind a router

3) I have tried adjusting all of my settings but it didnt help

I even redownloaded SL, Uninstalled and reinstalled so I had all the updates in one download instead of pieces but that didnt help either

Ok Natalie, one more question - do you wear a lot of attachments? The reason I ask is that there have been cases before when folks with prim hair and other goodies have had trouble teleporting.

Sometime back in the 1.6 series, LL made it so that attachments were saved during teleports. I wonder if that has some bearing on your issue?

Maybe try TPing without attachments and see if the problem persists? I know it's not a solution, but it's about the only thing I can think of.

I find myself having that same problem.
It only happens when I'm trying to tp to certain places. Three that I know of so far.
It is not my connection cause my friends talk with me through it. I'm stuck and cannot move cannot even try to tp elsewhere. I have to log out and log into my home if i log back in to last location i will be stuck once more. I'm in Washington D.C.
Its freaking annoying though.

I have tried detaching all my attachments to the point where i dont even have hair and end up with the silly walk ya have when ya first come into SL hahaha
