Returned all trees/plants and am going to have to replant from scratch by hand...

OK, two days ago I bought up the remainder of a SIM, joined the bits, then joined the new parcel to my existing parcel to make one parcel of the entire SIM.
Then I find all the Linden trees have gone un-deletable/copyable/editable!
Reported to Land Management and today I get a response - return all the trees and replant an entire SIM by hand!
So I IM the Linden in question (as I was invited to) to ask why they can't just set some of those automated random planter script widgets off on my land and solve the problem...
And get an auto-response telling me to try contacting Live Help!
I'll forgo commenting on that, my feelings about LL customer service are pretty well covered elsewhere.
But does anyone know of any alternative to manually replanting the entire SIM, or any way of 'repairing' the broken trees?
