Is it normal to have a folder disappear completely from your inventory when trying to move it using drag-drop? I lost a whole folder full of vehicles when I tried to drag them from inside another folder to the top level. OK, so it was only free stuff someone gave me so it's not the end of the world, but still, could've been a complete disaster.

Richard, that sounds abnormal -- I've dropped folders into the wrong subfolders at times and I've had to drill deep down to find them, but no, they weren't lost. Some weird stuff has ended up in the trash though, and there may be possible glitches with Inventory syncing that you'll need to relog for: an example, for me, is when stuff gets autoreturned but doesn't appear in the Lost & Found *yet*, but a relog will make it show up.

I recommend you keep the name of the folder in mind as well as items within it, and then when 1.6 comes out in its full glory, you use Search to quickly locate them and see if you can rescue them.

Hope this helps. :)

yeh, I thought it might have got lodged in some other folder (cos that happens in Windows Explorer often enough :) ), but I looked in every one - I don't have too much stuff yet so I can do an exhaustive search by hand!

When I was working with Live Help, I went to help someone find a lost folder. This may not be your case, but something to consider. She was attempting to move a folder from part of her inventory to another. She had two windows of inventory and was dragging across to the new location. As she moved one, it just disappeared. After exploring all the options we could sort through, I asked her where she was standing when it happened. We went up to the roof of the house where she was working and I found the folder in one of the roof panels. She had dropped it in the roof by accident, by releasing the mouse before its arrival destination. It had become part of that roof panels content.

Just one scenerio to explore if you have explored everything else. Another option, when 1.6 comes out, you will be able to search for items by name and it may turn up that way if you havent found it by then.

atleast when 1.6 gets here, you can search and see if it is did get placed in one of your 100s other directories!! But until then....hmmm
