Hope this is the right place for this...
I've been running into lag issues (extremely slow texture load times, or textures not loading until I click on them or mouseover them) and I figured out how to bring up the FPS and bandwidth display, but I'm not sure what it means.
I'm not too concerned with the framerate since I know it fluctuates, and once everything loads, usually it's pretty smooth. But my bandwidth display seems very low. I'm getting about 30-40kbps when my connection is capable of about 300. I'm not sure if that means my connection to SL is slow or if the problem is between me and my ISP.
I notice that the red zone in the display seems cap out at 150 and the little green bar showing my current BW is at about the one fifth mark. But occasionally the red zone will jump to 300+ for a second or two before returning to 150.
So where does my problem lie, and is there anything I can do about it?
Like I said, I don't mind the framerate, but taking several minutes to load a new area is a real downer.
