I had this today also, Snakekiss. I saw some symptoms before it happened in SL. Some clothing and tattoo textures turned 50% transparent, skin textures turned black when in apperance. I did a relog, then I got the same message as you, and was unable to login at all.

A reboot did solve it, but then I kept on crashing each time I tried to start SL. So I ended up with the repair I'm forced to do more and more often - sigh.... Soon I guess it will be on a daily basis :(

Try uninstall SL. Then run regedit. Search for and remove everything with secondlife in it (both folders and keys). Reinstall SL - and hopefully it will fix the problem for you, as it did for me. Good luck :)

Lis

P.S.: Torley, can you please put the thing about searching for and removing secondlife from registry after uninstalling into Lee's sticky "Linden tips for post-update woes" under section 3? I'm getting a little tired of repeating myself - lol

Hey Lis--as you've mentioned before, editing the registry is something to be done with care. I don't know further about the technicalities, so I'd advise asking Lee if it's sound, as it's his sticky. I can forward it to him if you'd like, just IM or email me (to make sure I don't miss it!). :)
