I updated this morning and have since been trying to login with no luck. The login appears to be frozen. I tried using the preview grid but it keeps saying to check my username and password as one is incorrect. I have cleared my game cache also.
Any suggesstions?

I tried using the preview grid but it keeps saying to check my username and password as one is incorrect. Katanya, if you have changed your password just resently, the grid will work with the new but the P7 will just remember your old password. I am not aware of the logg-in problem, aint home. |

I normally have it save my password so I don't always have to re-enter it, but I have even tried retyping it in myself, but to no avail.

It's now Thursday, almost Friday and I have yet to be able to login since 1.7 first started. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, cleared cache, updated router settings, and just about anything else I've seen here to try and solve the problem. Nothing yet has worked and I have to admit I'm a little frustrated. LL Support hasn't provided me with any real help either.
I've let SL idle for hours hoping that it may eventually get through but still nothing happens. I'm stuck at "Logging in. Second Life may appear frozen. Please wait." Is there anything anyone can think of that I may be able to try? _____________________

Same issue with Preview Grid

I'm having the same issue.. I can log in to the normal grid.. Just downloaded and installed the Preview grid and get the username/password error... but can log in to the normal grid with no problems.

I've now also tried adding ports to my firewall, disabling my firewall, put myself in the DMZ of my router, and tried logging in to a different location. Still, nothing is working. Boy is this frustrating.

You haven't mentioned what part of the login process it waits at.
If you have ANY internet security software, firewall software, anything by Norton, McAfee, ZoneAlarm, etc., you're going to have to manually go into that software, remove any exceptions for Second Life, then manually add a new entry with full permissions. We're getting many many phone calls and emails about problems that are caused by these programs treating the update as a virus and silently blocking login. |

I've uninstalled once again, ran a registry cleaner and reinstalled. I am now stuck at the "Connecting to Region..." part of login. I'm beginning to think I should just give up on SL.

Finally I was able to get in, but only after disabling the things i had added for SL to my router and firewall.
