New computer...best configs?

Hey guys. I just got a new Gateway computer. Windows XP, ATI Mobility x1400, Intel Core 2 @ 1.66GHz, 1GB RAM...

Secondlife seems to go real slow. On my old computer I am use to real life movement, but now I experience lag in game. The lag gets better when the sim rezzes, but it is still there even after it is fully rezzed. I have made some mods to the game, with graphic settings lower, and music off.

I was just wondering if anyone had anymore suggestions. Maybe something with drivers, my video card, or other in game mods? Anything would be helpful.

nvm. It was the duo core processor.Once I switched it over to just one, it worked beautifully.
