Can anyone tell me how would I get like better way to load the stuff in the game. I mean I don't know how long it takes most of you, but it takes just like a min max right? Is the like the normal loading for the objects in the game. Could anyone suggest some settings for me to load the items faster?
My system spec are...
2.4ghz
512mb (I think this is what is holding me back.)
Radeon x800 pro 256mb

Yep having min 1024 ram helps for SL, but,... its AWEFULL slow in SL latly, not even funny anymore,
what i run
x2-4800+
4098mb ram
6800gt 256mb pci-e
and blah what crap performance in SL now, to many users online really make texture loading crawl to a halt in weekends, only time i can enjoy it now are when less people are on
under <4000 online its desent in here, right now when im typing this its 5,606 online, SL looks like Tron , blocks of gray everywhere

ok so even 2,654 online = crap performance : p ..bleeeh

RAM definitely helps. I just made a hop from 512 to 768 megs, and even still I noticed a big difference. Still not as great as it can be, but better.

Just like Thili I live in Norway, and my sl experience just get worse and worse. Have also put in 1 gig ram, new graphics card, new power, freed up a lot of disk space, scanned for spyware/virus, keep on updating Windows, played around with Nvidia settings, tried several driver versions, removed programs, limited programs in startup/run in registry, changed firewalls, changed antivirus prog, delete cache each time I run sl, switched to another computer (and performed everything mentioned to that one too). Sigh.... Nothing helps  Have asked several Lindens about suggestions and advices and have followed the ones I have gotten. Yesterday when using my alt, I even started crashing when changing groups  As a last straw, I have now asked my isp to check connection/line quality between data.agni.lindenlab.com and my pc, as well as having my adsl router replaced. Have ran out of ideas what more to try. Cause my sl 'experience' now is just to sit quietly somewhere talking with friends in IM. Can do that at Yahoo too Conclusion: It just cannot be all in my end! Bring back sl 1.6.8 - it was perfect! Lis |

Lisbeth that all I can do myself at the moment in sl find a quiet place to sit and talk in IM.
I cannot teleport to a new area as it takes a long time to rezz especially if there are others around and the majority of the time my machine gives up and sl crashes.
Lindens please start to listen to your customers the curent update is a bloody disaster!!!!
More I see on this forum it not the PCs or ISP but your update that is causing the problems.
DO SOMETHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Poor Performance

It seems to me that performance has been degraded since the deployment of 1.9. However, even before this I noticed performance issues with increased number of logins. I think it behoves Linden Labs to carry out performance and scalabilty testing to ensure that the software can respond in a timely fashion and that the servers can handle increased loads with a minimum decrease of response times.

I have a fast Mac at home/work - fast connection.. - but always use 160 as setting in distance - its perfect.. at my fathers ”old” PB i use lower...
I lower AL in preferences..

Move into LL's offices and do what they do when they test 'improvements' connect via their LAN
