Hi, Im not sure if this is the correct Forum, I am new to videos in SL, and I love the ones MADE here. cant wait to try it myself or help someone by being in their project but anyway, I got a SL Video Vault movie and It plays great for me but my boyfriend cant watch it, he says the sound cuts out, this happenes at all resolutions from 150, 300 and 700. He says the sound plays fine for 30 seconds or so then stops. His preferences Seem fine but I am no expert. He has a cable connection and his fps is around 10-20 or so
The same as mine.

Is there anything else we can check?

You can sure ask here, but this sounds more suited for Technical Issues. I will move it there, and for now, I must ask for more details to help elucidate what's going on, such as... "SL Video Vault", this sounds like it's happening inworld? If that's the case...

What are the coordinates of this SL Video Vault?
Have you contacted the owner to ask if they know of similar problems?
Do you both have the newest version of QuickTime uninstalled? And if so, has your boyfriend tried uninstalling and reinstalling?
Video keeps playing for your bf but it goes quiet?

Same thing happens to me. My lady can watch a vid all the way through without pause. I,on the other hand watch about 30 seconds of it and then it loops back to the beginning.This is all *in world* btw.

You say your bf has cable connection,like yourself? I have cable as does my Lady.The only difference is hers is an 8mb connection, and mine is just 1mb. This means she can *stream* online vids much faster than me. This is our problem.I'm betting it is also yours.

The best advice i can give you is once the vid starts hit the pause button and walk away for an hour or so.When you come back to it, it should work perfect for you both.

Quicktime is quirky

Sara, SL's Quicktime implementation has always been quirky. At least it doesnt crash your client completely, like it used to. hehe.
