after the 1.7 update SL crashes at random times happens with 1.7.2 as well. I have all the latest drivers for my hardwere and have reinstalled SL. I am runing Win Xp sp2 on a
amd 2200xp 1g ram and a geforce 6600. can some on help?

Does anything noteworthy trigger the crashes consistently (this is very useful if so)? Does your computer lockup, reboot, or does SL's program just crash? When SL crashes, you have the capability to send a "Crash Report" to Linden Lab (this may need to be enabled in your preferences if you disabled it). These crash reports are useful and important to them in hunting down the cause of crashes. If you have the time, you may try contacting [email]support@secondlife.com[/email] and see if they can work with you and the crash reports you hopefully submitted, to figure out what could be causing the problem. If you have not done so already, try uninstalling SL, deleting your cache files, and then re-installing SL. Sorry that I can not offer many suggestions other than that without knowing more  |
