Log in and in the sea?

This is my first time i've logged in and appear to be in the sea which is a mucky brown colour? I can see a sun one side and a world the other side. I don't seem to be able to move either. I have logged in and out a few times now and restarted the game but always end up in this sea, or underwater?

Can someone please help. All I want to do is play the game!! Thanks.

Hmmm, that actually sounds like you aren't getting textures or communicating with the servers. Can you list your computer specs and internet connection so we can help better. The ocean is a foggy blue, not brown so you likely aren't there.

Sounds like you crashed in a sim corner and your login screen automatically puts you back to your last location. Before you log in hit the edit preferences button and click the box that lets you specify your start location.
