Nvidia cards for Laptops ?

My old laptop just died and I've been searching for a replacement I can run SL on. After reading all the posts about these I think I've narrowed it it down to a Dell E1705 or the Dell XPS M1210.

Before I hit that "buy now" button LOL I wanted to see if anyone knows if either one of these vid cards will For Sure run SL ?

Nvidia Geforce Go 7900 GS or the Nvidia Geforce Go 7400 TurboCache.

well, im running it on a dell inspiron 9300 with the geforce 6800 go... and it runs perfectly! so i think as those cards u mentioned are of newer generation, it should be no problem..

i don't know the system reqs., but i got 2gb of ram and ive heard it runs better with more ram..

Both of those cards will run SL. The Go 7900 GS will run it very well indeed; it' s the next best thing to the Go 7900 GTX found in the XPS M1710, and the E1705 is a lot cheaper. THe Go 7400 won't be a great performer, but it is compatible.

The "Turbo Cache" thing means that the card can augment the amount of video memory by using some of your main memory; it then uses the dedicated video memory as a cache. If you get a machine with that card, you'll have to experiment to see whether using the Turbo Cache is better or worse than just using the dedicated memoiry; I haven't yet seen any reports on it.
