Didn't get items I paid for

What do you do when you buy something from a store, but it doesn't show up in your inventory? The first time, I IMed the owner and never heard back. The second time, SL crashed right after I paid for the item, and am still waiting to hear from them. I know it's not a lot of money, but it adds up, and makes me afraid to make any more purchases.

Candie....I thought I had the same problem just about an hour ago when I purchased a set of six skirts at a well known shop in SL. I never got the blue box telling me that I had recieved the items..............I was about to IM the owner when I did a search. It was there even though I got no notice that I recieved it.

Did you search for it? It might be there like mine was.

I always copy down the name of whatever I buy from the blue box that comes up when you give anyone lindens.........sometimes the name of the item is slightly different in the box from the item on the vendor or purchase board. It's a pain sometimes when you are on a serious shopping spree.........but it helps finding your stuff later. Especially if you have relogged since you bought it and the recent items list is wiped.

That happened to me once. I contacted seller through IM and got told that it happens when assets server lags at bad time. In my case seller checked his records and sent me my item after that.

a few times I have purchased things and only received the poster of the Item I was trying to buy. like Candie said it's not a lot of money but it makes me mad.

Carm3n, are you sure that wasn't the box? Sometimes they do indeed look like the poster you paid -- you have to right click on it, choose "open" and save all the items to your inventory.

do I have to set it down some wear in order to do that, or should it just work right from the inventory? If I left click to select it then go to >file there is an >open but that just seems to open the properties box for it. There is no open when right clicking on the object. I IM the owner of the store but have not yet gotten a response.

Yeah you have to set it down somewhere. Go to one of the sandboxes if you don't know off-hand of any land that has build enabled. Some stores have areas build-enabled just for this purpose, but you can't count on that.

yep that worked should this have been something I read some wear? how are we supposed to know something so ...... simple.
