Noobie qu about boxed items.

Hi folks...

I have succesfully purchased some land, and successfully purchased a boxed home but for the life of me, I can't figure out how to rez the individual items in the box.

I can open the box once I place it on my land, and see the contents menu. I can even open and view the installation instructions but whatever I try, I can't get the building components out. Is there a specific way to do it, because if I drag an item from the contents menu onto my land there is a little padlock on the mouse cursor and if I select 'open' from the items context menu then nothing happens.

Your not being dumb, just inexperienced with SL

Step 1: Try just touching the box, some have an auto-unpacker that will put the items into a new folder of your inventory, if you get a dialog asking to recieve items, accept and goto step 4.

Step 2: Make a new folder somewhere in your inventory by right clicking a folder and choosing New Folder. Then right click the New Folder and rename to whatever you want.

Step 3: Drag the contents of the box into the new folder. If you get a pop up talking about possibly damaging the item, thats because the parts are no-copy and your permenantly removing them from the box.

Step 4: You should now beable to drag the items from your inventory into the world and follow the instructions to setup the house.
