I have an object. I am doing simple texture changes on it and I am crashing. Repeatedly. What would normally take me 5 minutes has taken me almost an hour due to crashing.

Also, it seems that 7 times out of 10 when I edit an single linked prim, I crash. I can replicate it over and over. Anyone else?

The only times I have crashed while editing something, is when I'm selecting TONS of prims (hair, homes, etc). Drives me nutty.

Crashing in Edit Mode
04-04-2005 12:59
Yes, I too am having a 100% reproduceable crash while attempting to edit. At first, I could select an object, right click, and at least get into edit mode. But when I select texture, instant SL lockup. After a reboot, when I select the same object, I cannot even get into Edit Mode without crashing. I am totally editless now. I have an Athlon 64 3500+ CPU with an NVidia GeForce 6800 GT OC Video Card.

texture edit crash
04-04-2005 14:08
Same here.
Oddly enough I'l on a G4 1GHz Powerbook so it doesn't seem to be platform specific.
Doesn't crash the entire machine, just instantly shuts down SL when I try and chose 'select texture' from the edit menu.
Very annoying as I'm basically unable to teach myself to craftat this point.

This use to happen when i would run out of free disk space (this was back in 1.3).

I would say make sure the cache hasn't eaten it all (clear SL's cache).

This happens to me too, but only when I try and edit a prim that I'm wearing, and only when I try and change the texture/color.

Same here. I tried to get a repro for LL in preview, with marginal success. I demonstrated myself crashing repeatedly to a couple of the QA team, and I bug reported it before the 1.6 release.

I've noticed it's the actual mouse-clicking that tends to precede the crashing.

I'm having the same problem...Every time I try to edit i get a message that Second Life Is Not Responding....this is really starting to get on my nerves. I can't even change a simple texture without it giving me the same message over and over. This has been going on ever since I did the 1.6.1 update. I hope someone came come up with a solution for this problem because I do not know how much more of this I can take...hehe

Crashes my hole system have to reboot if I try to edit a scrpited object and half of my textures dont show up in picker. This is starting to have effects on my 2 year old hard drive getting noisy after all these reboots and I have to pay for this to boot. I need to find a game that works to give my cash too
