About Land, Objects, "selected / sat upon", how is it calculated ?

I got this question from a renter, looked and played around with it, and still dont have a clue ?

I would love to know too. I logged into my 4K land last night, and 600 objects were selected/sat upon! I was the only person there, and I was just standing around, with nothing selected! I TP'd around, and then away and back, same thing.

I was going to build something, but I was kinda scared that if I hit the delete key half my stuff would disappear, lol!

That same thing happened to me yesterday, too. Over 500 prims on my land (out of 800 something used) were selected/sat upon. But I was hovering in the sky at the time. Very weird, and no way to tell which they were. I'll have to take another look today to see if it's still like that. I'd love to know what it means, exactly, and what causes it.

I posted about that on the blog about Region Data Loss Corruption last night, but it was deleted!

I have 1600 selected/sat upon out of about 8000 on one big parcel. 600 out of 1200 on another in a different sim. Even when I am the only one in the sim and not selecting or sitting on anything!

I've never seen it this high and hope it is not a problem.

I was able to see what the objects that were not selected / sat upon by showing my group objects and I guess what wasn't highlighted were the ones selected / sat upon. They were scattered all over, even some homes with link sets were partially highlighted within the link.

This count has never been reliable IMHO, but now it's massively inflated. I wish I knew for a fact that it isn't used for anything.

Why is it being used in the prim count anyway? Seems pointless.
