because i cannot log into SL as a christmas gift i think  . i get stuck at "waiting for region handshake" and after that the game closes and i get a message: "Unable to conect. log in packet never recieved by login server! please try again in a few minutes"  thats what i try now for much more then a few minutes  |

Same here. Totally unable ot log on, despite nothing on the blog or any indication of other people having problems |

Just logged in with no problems. Try changing your log in to either My Home or My Last Location which ever is not selected. If that doesn't work try logging in to a different sim:
