See the read started in the Mac Discussions. A Linden has not yet informed us of the situation. It's crashing most Mac computers!

well as far as i can see this is a random problem if no one will put specifics down about what they are running. for instance i am running OS 10.4.7 on a Quad 2.5 GHz G5, 2GB Ram, with a Quadro FX 4500 Video Card with 30" display using a 2560x1600 screen resolution (which all worked before with previous versions) and getting very frustrated not being able to even see this new "wonderful" login screen. i think Linden will adress this issue but you need to put the specifics to try to narrow down this problem. like i said as far as i can see there is no reason to why some Macs work and others don't at this point. if anyone has ideas please help. thanks.

ok, so i tried this. i was unable to log in, kept crashing as listed above, then i changed my resolution (800x600 from 2560x1600) and it worked. i don't know if this is what was causing it but while SL was still running changed my resolution back and with no problems. not saying this is the fix or that this is what is causing the problem, just letting you guys know what i did.

Mac crashing possible problem
10-25-2006 16:49
Hello Fellow Mac Users: I believe that the problem is between the pop-up window offering the update list and the Mac interface, as it is that after clicking the OK box of that pop-up that the program crashes. I do agree that Linden should give us Mac users some sort of explanation of what the problem may be and what is been done. Meatime, I guess we have to face the suffering of been locked out of the game.
