i have two almost identically PCs at home (P4 3 GHz, 1 GB RAM, ati 9600). But on the new PC with SSE3 CPU I get almost 40% higher framerates than on the one with SSE2 only.
can anyone confirm the big performance boost with sse3 cpu?

Zebra I don’t think that SL even utilizes SSE3 instructions. I am basing this on if you go to about secondlife it only shows SSE and SSE2 no SSE3 next to the videocard / type of slot / CPU instructions. Probably something else thats different.

hmmm, i wonder if SSE might be a performance difference on the Mac client. I dont think they added any support for SSE at all in the intel code of the UB. My desktop lists SSE2 and 3Dnow! but my Mac Laptop with an Intel Core Duo doesnt list anything at all.
