The new login at www.secondlife.com sometimes seems broken for me.

I click to log in, then I type my first and last names in the new interface, and my password. But When I click to get in, it just returns to the same page, after wiping the information I just typed. Duh????

I use it to see what friends are online, and of course to download my account stats.

I can use the forums because I can come directly to http://forums.secondlife.com without entering username or password. Must use a cookie or so...

This happening to anyone else?

Marker, are you using Firefox by chance? I've having the same problem. It works fine with IE but I can't log in to the community pages using Mozilla.

There is a problem somewhere, which we are currently investigating. We have not figured out what combination of things leads to this since most of the web dev team uses firefox here and it works for them. It works across pc and mac on different browsers, but, for example, it totally fails on my machine when using Mozilla.

Since we have a repro case, we should be able to address it soon.

Nope. IE here. But at least now I don't feel like I'm alone on this.

I don't have this problem in Firefox (my backup browser) but I do using Opera 7.5 (my primary browser.) On one hand, Opera seems somehow more suceptible to problems involving forms/login screens at times, on the other hand, it worked fine with the old website. Don't know about Internet Explorer (my browser of last resort, haven't opened it in months except for Windows Update.)

Firefox logs me in ok. The only thing I'm having a problem with is that sometimes it puts my last name is both name spots.

No problem using Safari in Mac OS X at home

Been seeing the above (wiping) symptoms intermittently at work though using IE 6 on the PC, Windows 2000.

What, I access SL at work ? - shame on me :p

Just to add to the general confusion... I have this same login problem trying to log in from Work via IE 5.50. I use Firefox at home and have no issues whatsoever. Go figure.

Ok, I have been having this problem at work, on IE 6.0 also. I want to switch from the forums to see my account info, and am prompted to login. I do so, click submit and the same login page returns with blank fields. Grrrr... But okay, try a few more times with the same results. So I tried something else. At the bottom of that page, you can click on 'Community', and when you do you will be redirected... showing that you are logged in. This has worked for me every time so far.

But something else that bugs me is that the time on the forums is incorrect. I have gone in several times to set my time zone again, and it's still wrong :(

I to have been noticing/having login problems since I installed the latest MS patch to IE. It also seams to have broken the Download transaction history option. Even if I get loged in if I try to download the history file I either get asked to login again or 1 of 2 error messages. :(

E1 = "Internet Explorer cannot download ...nsactions.php?date=1102406400 from secondlife.com. The file could not be written to the cache"

E2 = "Internet Explorer cannot download ...nsactions.php?date=1102406400 from secondlife.com. Internet Explorer was not able to open this Internet site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try again later."

Inspite of the link useing the same hostname & protocall (https) as the calling page is it on a seperate host that we need to connect to? Or is the problem that our clients keep getting better security?

P.S. I just DownLoaded & installed Opera and While I still keep getting the login screen every 45-90 seconds I can download the History files. Just to Weird.
