I'm upgraded my computer to a brand spanking new PC as the problems with Second Life has given me just the excuse, lol.

Second Life is still very laggy though I've found a little interesting thing about Second Life Software on my PC it seams to only claim to pick up 2 gb of my 3 gb of my RAM on my new PC.

My Window XP correctly picks up the fact that I have the 3 gb of RAM.

Any ideas why this is happening?

Could you give us more computer specs. That said, I've noticed the same thing. I'm running with 4gb of system RAM. SL only detects 2gb, and Windows only detects 3gb. The manual to my motherboard (Asus A8N-SLI) says that Windows missing my last gig of RAM is a known issue. I know I have 4gb because I installed it myself, CPU-Z sees it and it gets counted when the machine boots up.

My PC has the following spec:-

* AMD Athlon 64 3400+ processor
* 3 gb of RAM
* Windows XP Home Edition with Service Pack 2

In my windows finds all my 3 gb of ram with no problem but Second Life does not find 1 gb of m memory for some reason.

Talking to a Linden sometime ago they were mystified why Second Life was not finding all the RAM on my machine.

Anyone go any ideas what Second life is upto?
